The ones who have seen the work and history of Kiko Loureiro know that he is one of most important rock guitarist from Brazil and also internationally known. His musical roots go beyond the power chords and the distortion. Brazilian music, Latin music, Jazz and classic music have always been in his trajectory and a little sample of it was shown in “No Gravity”, the first Kiko Loureiro’s solo album released in the beginning of 2005. There were spread on this instrumental work, many references of this immense background, but totally surrounded by the mood and the heavy of rock which consecrate the guitarist.

I have always tried to go into different types of music. I always believed that music is unique, and organizing it in different types makes us realize how huge it is, and how it contributes to our good living.

This song I wrote during a holiday when I got rid of the big city, got isolated in a hilly region of Rio de Janeiro. There, involved in all local spirit, this samba was composed which in my opinion it has a huge influence of the big composer Paulinho da Viola who was born in Rio de Janeiro.It was a song which was composed straight at once as an improvisation.It’s really seldom when a song is composed this way and when it happens the feeling of achievment is unthinkable.
